Hyundai Sungwoo Casting – the Heart of South Korea’s Iron Casting Industry

Hyundai Sungwoo Casting, which has been devoted to facility automation and disk brake manufacturing technology development, has established itself as a leader in disk brake materials. We will continue to develop new materials/new processes with the passion of the casting factory to challenge ourselves as a world-class casting company, and become the foundation of Korea’s root industry that remains unshakable by developing eco-friendly processes and securing price competitiveness.

- HiSi/SSF : High Silicon / Solution Strengthened Ferritic spheroidal graphite cast iron
▶ It is a material with enhanced silicon employment in Ferrite base tissue and has high strength and toughness.
- It can improve elongation by up to 3.3 times compared to general FCD materials, so it can be 10-20% lighter by shape design.
▶ It could replace forging and Sibodur material
- Product and process design that meet customer needs and parts characteristics are possible.
- Maximize the Ferrite tissue fraction to improve mechanical properties by at least 20% compared to standard standards.
▶ Minimize variations in microstructure and mechanical properties by product area (product thickness ≤ 60 mm)
